On October 13, the Government adopted an order «On the National Intellectual Property Authority.» The body will begin operation the day after the decision is approved, serving as a single window for the documents protecting intellectual property rights.
The Authority’s functions include:
- acceptance of applications for state registration of copyright and agreements pertaining to the author’s right
- acceptance of applications for industrial property objects registration and inspection
- issuance of patents and certificates
- training, certification and registration of patent attorneys.
The decision marks successful completion of the institutional part of the intellectual property reform that has lasted for over four years.
